Fireplace SKEMAbox - Antonio Lupi

Design by Mario Ferrarini

Continuing its research and design of modular fireplaces, at Made Expo 2011 Antonio Lupi shows Skemabox. This new system results from an additional analysis concerning spaces and functionality, the cornerstone of any item with a strong identity. Skemabox is a modular fireplace consisting in practical elements that meet different needs and fit in the available spaces of the customers. It is equipped with a brazier and a rollaway log compartment. The new project keeps the linearity and style by Antonio Lupi for the rigor of its forms, but at the same time it also meets the need to optimize spaces. The combustion chamber, in all its width, hides underneath a practical rollaway log compartment thus perfectly integrating all the practical parts into one single geometrical and clean volume.
Skemabox, resulting from a direct feedback of the customers who are more and more conscious, grants the wish to stow logs avoiding the build-up of dusts that is typical of open log baskets. The combustion chamber, which is made of steel, is equipped with a closing system made of ceramic glass that allows a lower consumption of wood and pellet, but ensuring always a high flame. This fireplace respects the environment, it is possible to install it with a connective system, that is to say with heat pumps to spread the heat into the other rooms as well, or with a radiant one, covered with ceramic material, that stores up the heat and spreads it up to eight hours after the fire extinction.
